• The publication of this journal was postponed by 2 weeks. There are a variety of reasons for this, but this is the first time we have tried to publish an all-inclusive literary journal of any kind, and unexpected difficulties arose in the editing and printing processes, and there was one difficulty after another on the way to publication. I ask for the understanding of the readers and authors on this point. 

• In the process of sending this journal out into the world, we received a great deal of guidance from Takayanagi Shasui, and the Japanese editorial department of the Sentinel allowed us to make use of all of the stencil tools and provided a great deal of assistance. In addition, the cover and internal illustrations were graciously provided by Estelle Ishigo, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude here. 

• The proceeds from the sale of this journal will be set aside as Heart Mountain Bungei funds within the Community Activity fund, from which necessary expenses will be paid. 

We plan to include a financial report from the next issue. 

• In the near future, we hope to hold a meeting with all of the Center’s literary artists, and organize a Heart Mountain literary society around this journal. We hope that all of our fellow literature lovers will be able to attend the meeting.
